Fallout New Vegas Animations

  • Clean first person animations for New Vegas. No new idles, no bugs, no reload cancelling from shooting early or crouching, no compatibility issues. As images are tedious and tiresome to collect as a means of demonstration, please see the 'Animations' section for video demonstrations of the animations.
  • Anyone have the mod files for Animation Project they can send me? I removed it so I could get Solid Project, which is an updated version of Animation Project. But since Solid Project doesn't work for me, and the mod author hid the original Animation Project on Nexus, I'm left with nether of them. I just want Animation Project back at the very least.

Creating a New Profile:

This video will showcase my Animation setup for Fallout New Vegas. This is also compatible with New California if setup correctly.(A replacement for the Solid.

In order to keep a full installation of just the Core module handy, we will create a copy of the profile:

  • Click the button on the top bar of MO2
  • Click on the Viva New Vegas - Core profile and select Copy
  • Input Viva New Vegas - Visuals for the new name then click OK
  • Select the Viva New Vegas - Visuals profile from the profile drop-down

Creating a Separator in Mod Organizer 2

  • Right-click in the left pane of MO2 and select All Mods -> Create Separator
  • Input Visuals into the pop-up and select OK
  • Create another separator below that called Textures + Models + Animations

Clutter and Small Objects:

MGs Neat Clutter Retextures

Files to install normally:

  • Main File - MGs NCR Pack 7

- Texture pack that focuses on clutter items that other big packs do not cover

Terrain and Major Objects:

NMC's Texture Pack

Files to install normally:

  • Main File - NMCs Textures NV SMALL Pack SINGLE FILE FOR NMM
  • Update File - NMC New Vegas Patch for ALL Sized packs

NOTE: The reason the guide uses the small version of the NMCs is that it has the best visual fidelity/performance ratio of any of the options. The large option has the exact same texture sizes as the medium pack, but just with higher resolution normal maps. This has a massive performance decrease for a hardly noticeable visual increase, as well as unavoidable stuttering and crashing. The medium option's LOD texture sizes are also too big, meaning FNVLODGen can't handle them properly. This results in entire missing chunks of LOD. It is HIGHLY recommended to just follow the guide and use the small option

Hide the following:

Fallout new vegas animation project
  • textures/architecture/helios_one/solar_reflector.dds
  • textures/architecture/helios_one/solar_reflector_m.dds
  • textures/architecture/helios_one/solar_reflector_n.dds
    • Hides the textures for the solar panels at Helio One, since MG's has higher quality ones

NOTE: If you do not know how to 'hide' files, go back to the Core - MO2 Config page and read the IMPORTANT: Mod Installation Advice in Mod Organizer 2 section
